The Ultimate Rock N Roll Hen Do

I'm organising my best friend Karen's hen do at the end of May, and have an awesome weekend planned for her and the other hens... I couldn't resist letting slip about some of the secret details (don't worry, she doesn't know about this blog!)

8 of us will be getting the train from Brighton to London in the morning, wearing personalised T-shirts from Banana Moon which will feature a multi-coloured logo on the back, inspired by some of the things Karen loves... cats, music and Muse (her wedding cake is designed around one of their album covers) She really is a Rock N Roll Bride!

We'll stop off in London for some lunch and a spot of shopping, then get back on the train to St Albans, where we're staying in a beautiful spa hotel called Sopwell House. We each get a choice of a massage, facial, manicure or pedicure, before chilling out in the spa and sipping on summer cocktails. Once we're suitably glowing, we'll retire to our rooms and put on the tunes and play some silly games, then have a toast to the bride to be, before getting dressed up for dinner and hitting the town.

Here's the best bit, and Karen doesn't know this... a local music venue/pub happens to be hosting a tribute band of Karen's second favourite band; the Fu Fighters! So we'll don our personalised T-shirts again, and more drinks, some head-banging and air guitar will undoubtedly follow, before we hit the nearby clubs and dance the night away.

The next morning, a nice dip in the pool followed by a fry-up should help cure the hangovers, followed by sunbathing in the gorgeous gardens and chilling before lunch, then it's time to get the train back home to reality.

I really hope everyone has fun, especially Karen, as she's worked really hard to organise her wedding and has been a great friend over the years. Here's a few photos of Karen & I at some of the gigs we've been to together (spot the banana!)

Hello World

Hello... world?

For the first time ever, I've created a blog - firstly because I'm bored at work, but mainly because I want to enter a competition which requires you to submit a blog article (coming soon!)

I'm not sure why I've never blogged before, as I'm quite technical and have a pretty good grasp of the English language (I can talk and argue for Britain!) but I never really know what to talk about on these things, or whether anyone will be interested?!

But apparently it doesn't matter whether anyone reads your posts - Social Networking is proof of that, with thousands of comments about things that mean nothing to most people, and selfies! It's just about putting your thoughts down on paper (or in today's day and age, a webpage) and expressing yourself through the medium of free speech - something we are lucky to have here in England.

I used to write a diary when I was younger, and although that included a lot more personal details than I'm willing to share online, I really enjoyed writing it and reading back through it, so hopefully I'll enjoy this too and keep it up beyond my next blog, which will be on the subject of... my friend Karen's hen do, which I am organising. I'm trying to come up with an interesting and original theme, as a lot of our friends have got married in the past few years, so we've already had personalised T-shirts, sashes, hats, penis accessories (!) and fancy dress cartoon characters (I was Bananaman!)

If anyone is reading this, I hope you'll come back soon and find out what I have in store for Karen...
